Scene From the Trail - Photo page 3

I was just getting ready to sit and soak my feet in this stream when
I looked into the eyes of this fellow only a few feet away. He made it clear that he didn't want to share the space. I never heard the rattle due to stream sounds. Other hikers told us this guy was a big one.
Even with the threat of wind and rain, we decided to cowboy camp on a mountain top so we could see the sunset & sunrise and watch the stars. Here is the sunrise. By the way, it was warm and dry-We slept very well.

Sad that the trees are burned but they are pretty.

The infamous Poodle Dog bush. Bad news for those who should touch it, it is much worse than poison oak. It has a very distinct and strong odor. Sort of a mix of skunk cabbage and cat pee. You can tell it's near by its smell.

Trail magic is just about the best thing a hiker can come across. In this case trail angel Aloha carried most of these goodies uphill about 1/2 mile to surprise Toots, his hiker wife & friend Tears and any other lucky hikers passing by. It sure lifted our spirits! Thank you Aloha!
