April 27 Back on the trail again...

After a week of resting and elevating our feet we plan to hit the trail again tomorrow.
We are still pretty tender and nervous doesn't begin to describe our fears of reoccurrance. The blisters have all popped, scabbed over and in most cases, dried up and are nearly gone but never forgotten!

So many thanks to Rik & Faith for their generous hospitality this week. You are true angels and a godsend. And to mom & dad Owens for sending different shoes. They rub in the same place so I'm not sure if they will help. To Miriam & Julie for the repeated contact with words of advice & encouragement and of course many thanks to all of you who have been following us and sending your love, prayers and encouragement, we appreciate it.

There has been some internet issues with photos so we apologize for the lack of visuals. As soon as we can we'll get some posted. In an effort to lighten our packs we are bouncing our solar charger and battery pack. The pack is not working so why carry them? We are looking at some alternatives so we can keep everything charged and going (wish WE could get recharged as easily!)

It dawned on me this morning that this the longest I've gone without some sort if exercise...no wonder I'm going stir crazy!

Today we will get our food stuff sorted. We're packing for 10 days this time instead of the original 6. The shorter distances should help but it does add time. We are both anxious to get 100% better so we can do some serious hiking. We're anxious to experience the adventure awaiting us. We know there are going to be more days of pain and scary things (bugs, snakes etc.) This hike is not just a walk. It's a test of us and our character.

In the comfort of Rik & Faith's air conditioned home I can relax and write a babbling blog. The future ones probably won't be!

Much love to you all...
We love hiking!
