April 21 - Getting Rescued at Warner Springs

Limped into Warner Springs this morning.
KOKO has multiple open blisters on both feet and The Bald Guy has blisters that are doing "okay" but is suffering from extreme foot pain, even without a pack. The good news is this community center that is open for hikers as a fundraiser the the local FFA. Meals, showers, computers and just a great family atmosphere. This was needed for us, both mentally and physically.

The good news is we are being rescued by a friend of a friend. So, it's off to an RV for at least one "zero" day (day of no hiking).

Wish we had time to share photos, but our ride just pulled up.

We love hiking.

  1. Ouch! Good time to take a Zero and heal-up a little. Toe socks with another sock over them worked good for me, plus a larger shoe toe box. Wishin' you well Jeff-n-Sue, saw your article in the local paper, I'm from Tillamook. :D

    1. Thanks for following & commenting. Looking forward to meeting you when we get home. Maybe start a PCT club?

Thanks for suggestion. I haven't like toe socks in the past but may revisit the idea. Something's gotta change though!

  6. Ouch! Take enough time to let them heal, and be grateful for old friends, or friends of friends. ;-)

Saw mom today and she's doing well--enjoyed the letter and phone call (?). ;-)

Love you both, don't push beyond what your feet are ready for or you'll be slow and miserable for a very long time, instead of a little slower for a few days!

    love you much!
